Did I love this book? No. Did I hate this book? Also No. Do I want to travel to Rome now? Absolutely Yes.
However, the scattered writing style made it a bit of a struggle, and the main character felt one-dimensional and irritating. The unresolved ending left me wanting more closure. Despite these flaws, it had its moments, but kept me from loving this book.

DNF it was like a very boring journal. I gave it a go, but I just couldn't give it anymore of my time.

I rarely DNF books but this was a rough one. I put it in a Little Free Library in my neighborhood and feel bad for whoever picked it up next.

Such a great way of storytelling! I loved how the past was mixed into the present story. Hopefully we'll get another book from this author soon.

I loved this novel, the descriptions Giacco provides of Rome really transport the reader there. The actual story was purposefully slow, allowing for deeper understanding of Emilia's character and personal struggles. I liked how we were given glimpses of her life and experiences that have led her to this solo Roman holiday. The ending left me wanting more, which I think was the point...
but I wanted to find out what happened between her and John and if she left Rome when she was supposed too!

I really enjoyed this one in the end, a very reflective and chill book.
I enjoyed the slow meander through Rome, this book made me hungry, for food and for travel.
Sally Rooney vibes but in hotter climes.

A beautiful and reflective book. Just a bit more slow moving than I typically enjoy.
