I was so happy to see that there are more books about the nerd herd. I love the story line and reading about them growing into adult hood. I have never been disappointed with this series and I was not disappointed this time. Can't wait to start book 2.

Unfortunately, I am disappointed. Not that surprising, I guess, but still. This was like someone on the internet wanted to write a Damien and Jack fanfiction and ended up making this.
None of it made sense. You really had to create an alternate universe to continue the series?? Who asked for it?
At least they calmed down on microagressions (though using “black girl magic” is still fucking weird to explain how a black woman made a narcissistic white pretty boy become tolerable), and no more use of the r word. The authors really need an editor to tell them to chill out on the use of “Ah, hell” though, because it’s like every chapter. And now Other Kevin uses it too? Pls.
The characters all stayed decently faithful to their original ways, so I can appreciate that.
I’m gonna read the other three. Obviously. I just feel it trying to pull me into a deep reader slump. Like a trainwreck that i can’t stop watching.

So, I cringed through half of the book. Zombies, really?
The concept of the other world is interesting, but I don’t know how I felt about the execution of it.
Also everything seemed to just wrap up and be better so easily (besides the 70 something people that were killed, which was just never mentioned again). Oh, Jack is totally fine now! Oh, all the red fledglings/vampyres are fine now except for their guilt and other feelings! Oh, Zoey is going to be all close with her brother all of a sudden when she never was before! Everything just seemed too convenient.
Also, wanted to smack Aphrodite at the end for being so flirty with Kevin while sweet, wonderful Darius stood there and dealt with it.
Despite all this, I couldn’t help finishing the book quickly because of a desire to keep reading. Maybe it’s just because I love Stark so much. Who knows.

I expected this to be bad, but it was somehow even worse than I thought. Pasghetti, still. Also, why is the emphasis "Ohmygoodness"? Surely "Ohmygoodness" is standard. Small details, but there are so many things like this which still bug me! At the end I saw there will be another one, and I know I'll read it. Sigh.
