Abby has got hold of her Dreaming powers now. And nothing is going to stop her from fixing Faery. And everything else that's gone wrong. Maurice is still on the loose, Ion is still missing, Talivar and Abby are handfasted, and Melanie has gone missing. To say hell has broken loose is to state it lightly.

A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT kicks off shortly after the cliffhanger ending of A SLIVER OF SHADOW. I have to admit that book 3 didn't play out as I had imagined it would. Without giving away spoilers its hard to elaborate on that but I was surprised at how thing played out. A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT takes place in both the Otherworld and the mortal world. All of our favorite characters are involved in this installment and the love triangle between Abby, Talivar and Brystion is still going strong. I really like both of them and was not rooting strongly for either of them. There is a great amount of action as well as twists that you wont expect.

The ending. I'm utterly confused. Are they not joined still? I thought that it was permanent now but then it says they aren't? I read the ending multiple times and still have no clue. And someone said this is the last book? Really? It seems way to up in the air to leave the ending like that. Like I said, I'm confused. Besides that one confusion I loved the book and I love the world that Allison has created with her Abby Sinclair series. Pick up books 1 and 2 before diving in or you might be pretty lost going into A TRACE OF MOONLIGHT. I seriously feel that the series cant end like this though so I really hope there is another book in the making, I must know what will happen next.

A Trace of Moonlight is book three in the Abby Sinclair series. It picks up shortly after A Sliver of Shadow. Abby has lost her memory after drinking from the waters of lethe and doesn't know what is going on. Talivar is taking care of Abby, and trying to find a way to recover her memory and save her from being the Tithe.

On a stroll in the garden Abby sees Maurice who is being held in Faerie for his actions in the last book. He escapes with something very important, and mortally injures someone, which causes a ton of issues for everyone. After dealing with all the hubbub, the Queen still needs Abby to be the Tithe, a human sacrifice to keep the peace between the demons and Faerie. To keep Abby in place she places a geas on her so she cannot go to the CrossRoads. This rubs Talivar the wrong way, so he enacts a plan to ensure their escape from under the Queen's thumb.

A good portion of the book revolves around the Eildon tree, which basically holds the CrossRoads together. After a fight near the tree it's a race against the clock to find Maurice and save the CrossRoads. Abby is left to make hard decisions, and save multiple lives.

The relationship aspect of the book is pretty much the same as in book two. There is a love triangle, and I still wasn't sure who I wanted Abby to wind up with. I could tell that Talivar cares for Abby and she cares for him, but I just wasn't sure. Brystion on the other hand was in this book more and I leaned his way slightly.

A Trace of Moonlight is an fast read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I love that Abby doesn't always make the wisest decisions, and her character isn't perfect in every way. I highly recommend this series, if you haven't read Allison Pang's work yet you are missing out.

Well. A Trace of Moonlight is a complex, complicated story. We start out with Abby having lost her memory, living in Faery, and betrothed to Talivar. Then she loses her amulet. And dies.

What a start, huh?

Of course, Abby’s friends can’t let her stay dead, so they hatch up a plan. And may have screwed the world in the execution of said plan…

Dead or not, Abby’s still sassy and sarcastic. Phineas is still a horny unicorn. Talivar is still a bit too nice. Brystion is still sexy and moody and broody. And her friends are still a coalition of circumstance than of the willing. But somebody needs to save the world!

This series has been an enjoyable one to read, and A Trace of Moonlight certainly doesn’t disappoint in the drama department. I mean, hello – amnesiac heroine betrothed to fairy prince while dreaming of erstwhile sex-on-a-stick incubus? Can we say major drama? Why yes, yes we can.

But before you get all I-hate-drama on me, let me also tell you that the story-telling is superb, accompanied by kick-ass action – or rather, kick-Abby’s-ass action – and pretty fab characters. So, if you haven’t given this series a try, well what’re you waiting for? Go pick it up!

A Trace of Moonlight is the third novel in the Abby Sinclair series. It’s a series you want to start with the first, A Brush of Darkness. In fact the next paragraph might ruin the cliff hanger from book two. It’s nearly impossible to say what the book is about without giving something away from previous books, but as always I am going to do my best. If you want to check out the review from the book before it, A Silver of Shadow, here you are.

Abby not only loses the key to the crossroads (portal-ish key to getting almost anywhere) to the enemy, but the crossroads itself is turned upside down when it’s attacked. It is up to Abby and her friends to save it. During this mish mash of Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy goodness, Abby still finds herself stuck between two unearthly men, and married to one of them.

From the first two books we know that Abby fixes her problems by often making them worse. The biggest problem I have with her is her inability to decide on who she is in love with. No, wait, I take that back, because she openly admits she is in love with both. She recognizes that what she is doing is unfair, and while she is willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good, she can’t do that inside a relationship. She also keeps saying that she needs to learn how to fight. You would think the sharp shooter elf prince would have given her some pointers. She stumbles her way through the story as she did before, trying to save things, and while she can manage it, she often makes other messes in the process.

Brystion causes Abby to explore more of her Dream Walker powers. We get peeks into the dreaming world of others, which like the TouchStone bonds, is really neat. The magical elements in this series never feel tacked on. Usually all things come with a price in this series.

The side characters have become more interesting. This book gives Melanie and Nobu a closer look. In previous books, we know that they were once TouchStoned lovers. In a way they are kind of the archetype cursed couple. On the other hand Nobu is a demon, and not a very nice one, yet for some reason I still want them to have their moments desperately. *Takes a girly sigh*

The problem here, at least for me, is that nothing is evolving. The last book featured the same demented bad guy, the same love triangle, and the same basic formula for a plot. It’s done in different ways, but it still feels a lot of the same. I was urging for some character growth, and development admits all the snarky conversations. The story leaves the reader on a high note, not actually a cliff-hanger, but enough information that lets the reader know everything has changed.

I do enjoy Pang’s fast pacing in this series. It’s always hard to set down. Despite my remark about the snarky language, I do enjoy it. I just want more from it, and still want more out of this series. This is a huge expanding world that is easy to follow, and is filled with a ton of unforgettable characters, but the plot felt a lot of the same. I still think readers are in for a treat with this series which is both witty and large scale.

So as I've stated before I'm not really a big fan of Ion. Yes they supposidly had passion and a connection but for some reason I never really connected with him. With that being said I'm pretty upset that this book ended the way it did. It was very open to interpretation, although it was clearly slanted in one direction. Is this the last book in the series?

After the big cliffhanger in the previous book I was looking forward to the next installment. I feel like the first third of the book for me was good but somewhere around the middle of the book with all the relationship hangups Abby became to me one of those wishy-washy UF heroines that string along men and I didn't want to read any further. I would read something else by the author but I feel like I've lost most of my interest in this series.
