Realistically I would give this 3.5 stars, but that’s not really an option here. I loved the illustrations, and the characters were formed well.

Described as Golden Girls meets Battle Royale, but missed the mark for me. It was a good premise, but slow pacing and not much plot, it seemed to get bogged down in introducing the characters.

I thought this was a cool concept for a graphic novel/comic. Though, it didn't really "wow" me I thought it was an okay book. I picked this up at my local library with high expectations, sadly this didn't meet all of them. But this was okay, it shifts your perspective on some of the things written in here.

I really enjoyed this one, it has lovely tender moments with a great amount of thrilling adventure and violence.

I just wish this was longer or there were more volumes as it’s such an interesting concept with some amazing areas to develop into something incredible

A strong start and I’m excited to see where this series goes. I’m particularly looking forward to learning more about the off-island society. And surely there are a bunch of young (and old) queer people on some part of the island?

I’ll definitely be reading the next volume.

I LOVE the golden girls. I think there's maybe a way to do a modern tribute to those iconic characters that breaks through the classic sitcom tropes in a thoughtful way, but to do that while also being a battle royale-flavored action comic? it's a little too much to do any one part well. touching at times, but overall less than the sum of its parts
