Don't Call It a Cult: The Shocking Story of Keith Raniere and the Women of Nxivm by Sarah Berman

Knowing nothing about this "group", I went into this with no expectations and quickly was stunned at everything that these people did and put others through.
On the surface, members were intelligent, had futures..... and were sucked in by the lies and manipulations of a deranged man. So much so that some were branded, and most gave over sexual collateral as well as statements that were of their darkest secrets or completely fabricated.
I still remain fascinated as to how people can be psychologically manipulated to do things that would, in general, be outside of what they may naturally do.
This book was well written, well researched, and at the end just sad that so many people were influenced to different extremes.

I listened to the CBC Uncovered podcast about NXIVM, and this covered a lot of the same information, but had a somewhat different perspective.
