I was dead set against daemon in the first book, but now I've warmed up to him. He was so cruel and insufferable before, but this book showed his softer side and that he actually cares about Katy. Although I'm still confused about why he changed so quickly. The story lines were very interesting and captivating. I'm quickly becoming a Jennifer armentrout fan.

This is even better the second time reading it.

Daemon has saved Katy’s life, healing her, which turns Katy’s whole life upside down. Not, things are happening. She is causing things to happen...

Katy and Daemon are still dancing this intoxicating dance around each other. They are so drawn to each other, but try to maintain distance from one another. Meanwhile, a new kid arrives in town. Blake is a sexy surfer type who seems to want to be around Katy simply because he wants to, not because of a strange alien connection, like she believes is the case with Daemon. Even though she is attracted to Blake, she can’t get Daemon out of her head. But, Blake may be more similar to Katy than she could have ever expected.

Both Arum and the DOD are ones to watch out for in this book. And when Katy believes she sees someone who is supposed to be dead WITH a DOD agent, she doesn’t know who to tell.

While she may have Daemon and Blake in this book, she doesn’t really have Dee. Her new powers make her a danger, both because she is unstable and she is a possible liability, so Daemon doesn’t want Dee involved.

Blake is there to help her, to train her... but Daemon despises the boy... but, is Blake really a friend? Or a foe? Daemon refuses to trust him and wants him nowhere near Katy. She may be in more danger than ever before. If her double dna is as coveted as they think, she is a walking target.

The chemistry between Daemon and Kitten Katy is sizzling. Add new boy Blake to the mix for heightened tension, but Blake isn't all he seems. Daemon's jealousy is a bit immature by his conscious renaming of Flake Blake to Bart, Bert, and countless B names which did get a little stale after the umpteenth time... yet his jealousy is quite sweet considering his surface egotistical self.

I'd hoped for more on the Dee and Katy friendship front, and more about the other alien cast, but Dee's only development is sucking-face with another alien. Moving on...

The pace speeds up in the last third of the book. Alien powers in action, true intentions revealed, the complicated history between aliens, the DOD and the Daedalus sub-group. Lots of nefarious goings-on and not everyone is as they seem.

I enjoyed this more than the debut and look forward to what happens next.

I liked this a little better than the first book. It was also so easy to read so I recommend this series if you're in a book slump or something it'd probably help you get out of it (unless you don't like a whole lot of romance bc this is def a paranormal romance although it isn't insta love so there's that)
