I'm not such a big fan of mysteries. This was passable.

I looked up reviews and many say the beginning is hard to get through but after learning it's a mystery thriller, I don't think I'd enjoy it anyway.
I reckon I'll watch the movie though hehe.

Loved the mysterious plot and characters, did not like the violence. Can't decided if I should read The Girl Who Played with Fire. Any thoughts?

The first 50 pages or so were slow, but after that I couldn't "put it down." I like that it took place in Sweden and was written by a Swedish author. It is definitely an adult book though -- I couldn't listen to it with my kids in the car! I am adding the other two "Millenium" books by this author to my to-read list. I'm happy to have another mystery/thriller author, even though it's limited since this series was published after he died in 2004.

One of the few instances where the movie was better than the book. Larsson tries to write someone more intelligent than he is, and ends up with a caricature.

Loved this book! Edgy, clever, intriguing, fun. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too easy to see the book as a movie while I was reading it, which is not a bad thing, just something I find annoying.

the first hundred pages are so are beyond tedious... i very nearly gave up on the book, but i am SO glad i didn't. despite some translation barriers, this trilogy is beautifully written and engaging. absolutely loved it!
