  • Plot- or character-driven? A mix
  • Strong character development? Yes
  • Loveable characters? Yes
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

A cute cozy read, however, it was quite repetitive and I could feel myself losing interest and just scanning the text as I’d heard it all before in the earlier pages.

However, the characters a loveable and the concept is really good.

Feel a bit of a cheat that this will count as my first book of the year when I read most of it in the last days of 2022 but oh well 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think you can really say this book was bad, but you can say its exactly what you expect it to be. Miranda Dickenson writes fluffy love stories to be released around Christmas time, with the right amount of heart break and triumph thrown in. This being said her formula is getting slightly predictable! Not that it has stopped me starting the next one. All I can say is, if you want a break from heavier things. . . It's perfect!

I liked the characters in this, and the interaction between the band, but I didn't think this book was particuarly special to stand out amongst the other similar 'chick-lit'-esque books that are out. The music snobbery that the band displayed really began to grate on me, because if anything it made them look bad because they were 'selling out' as it were to play the gigs simply for the money. I thought this was okay.

Bloke kisses emotionally vulnerable random woman on the street and then runs off and I’m supposed to find that romantic because he’s hot.

Woman spends year trying to find said bloke and I’m supposed to find that romantic because it’s not at all creepy and stalker is.

Add in some boring, repetitive scenes to pad out this meagre storyline and there’s nothing much left to say.

Boring.
