A hopeful story that is beautifully illustrated. Would definitely reread this and recommend to others with children who like to take their time viewing the pictures.

Too advanced for story time, but really cute illustrations and great messages about sticking together and not having to conform to society's weird standards to like yourself.

A story with a lesson: You are perfect just the way you are and you will one day find your place in this world. There might be a part about bringing people into your life that will be willing to help you on your journey and that staying positive will help you find a way.

Strange creature abandoned in a sample jar escapes… Drawing on tropes of abandoned teddies &c. this is at one level a simple, well-told tale - but there’s more to it. What is freedom? How do we make choices? What is our friendship group - and how will we choose to live? Little tricks of scale, of the (often comic) interplay between all the creatures make this much more thoughtful - and the point at which Barnabus comes face to face with boxed toys that look like him will stay with me quite a while.

An adorable book with beautiful illustrations and a lovely story to match. The artwork looks like it came straight out of a Pixar film; and I love Barnabus especially
