Later On We’ll Conspire by Kortney Keisel is a fun Christmas romantic comedy/romantic suspense.

This book was such a fun read! It reminded me A LOT of the movie Knight & Day with Tom Cruise. Many of the elements I love about Knight & Day were also in Later on We’ll Conspire. The hunky undercover hero, the spunky independent girl, the technology everyone is chasing after, the instant chemistry between the main characters, the witty dialogue and endless flirting (even in the midst of a fist fight), you name it and it was there!

I loved that this story takes place during Christmas time and had a lot of fun Christmassy elements, but there was more to the plot than your typical Christmas activities. I also loved that the suspense/mystery aspect of the plot wasn’t terribly predictable. There was definitely a major plot twist I didn’t see coming. I’m still on the fence about the plot twist, I liked it because up until that point the story was so similar to Knight & Day that it felt too predictable, but the plot twist completely changed everything and suddenly it wasn’t predictable anymore. However, I felt like the plot twist was so out of the blue that at first it didn’t make sense and I felt like I was missing something. As much as I enjoyed being surprised by the plot twist, I almost wish there were more hints leading it up to it so it was more of an “ah ha” moment rather than a “what just happened?!” moment. I also loved how the plot twist changed the dynamic between the main characters. I loved seeing them essentially switch roles, and how that just increased the romantic chemistry.

The main thing I loved about this book was the romantic chemistry. I love that Kortney was able to deliver a lot of great scenes that demonstrated the great chemistry between the characters without the story getting too steamy or spicy. The kisses were fantastic and the attraction was strong but I never felt like it crossed the line from sweet to spicy. That balance is really difficult to achieve, but it was perfect for my personal preferences!

Overall this was a fun Christmas story with great characters, an interesting plot, fantastic kissing scenes, lots of action and adventure and yet lots of the homey Christmas feels too! I highly it recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Knight & Day or action packed rom coms!

This was my first dive into the Christmas Escape series and what flat-out fun read it was! This is not your average Christmas novel, this is a bit of a Christmas-themed, spy, romantic-suspense RomCom. And it works. It’s funny, action-packed, swoony, and sweet.

Things I Loved:
-Parson Brown
-What’s your flex?
-Uncomplicated merry kissmas
-“Park is my Christmas chimichanga, and the relationship rules are the antacids that protect my heart from getting burned.”
-Blitzen
-T-Rex hands
-“…spending time with her is like being on chapter one of a thousand-page book and trying to read as fast as you can so you can get the entire story as soon as possible.”
-Ornaments
-Big Red (we call our red headed daughter Little Red

This was a fun and unique book. I knew going into this to expect unrealistic situations and that it’s a true escape “for fun” novel. I agree completely. I heard “like Die Hard” and was on board! I heard it took place in Leavenworth, WA and I couldn’t wait to read it. Leavenworth is such a fun town ❤️

This is a fun blend of romance and intrigue. It’s heavy on the romance, which makes it more accessible to romance readers, but the spy intrigue is interesting and developed too. Some of the plot took me by surprise, in a good way. It did feel a little different than the rest of the series (as the rest of the books are straight romances), but on it’s own, it’s such a fun read.

Later on We’ll Conspire

A fun take on a Christmas novel. Knight and Day meets Hallmark Christmas movie. Set in the Christmas town of Leavenworth, Washington.

Couldn't get into the storyline. The whole potential double agent issue was just too weird and not engaging for me.

Move over Die Hard we have a new Christmas action story in town! This action packed holiday romcom was pure fun! It had all the vibes of a hallmark movie mixed with Mission Impossible. I loved the chemistry between Park and Lacee. The romance was sizzling while still staying clean. I smiled at all the Christmas references and puns. I was “laughing all the way.”
