Each winter, Sierra goes to California with her family to sell the Christmas trees they spend the year growing on their Oregon farm. This year, Caleb crosses her path and Sierra gets a lesson in forgiveness and second chances.

I picked this up because it is Jay Asher. I read it now because it is Christmas and this is such a perfect Christmastime novel. I devoured it in a day because it was utterly charming. Gentle lessons on forgiveness and second chances are cloaked in a sweet love story.

this book was very light and very cute. I received this book for Christmas and i knew I had to read it during this time of the year, since it takes place during this time. I loved the whole concept, holiday books are my favorite. it was light, it was cute. I liked sierra as the main character. I think she made the right choices and was very independent. her relationship with Caleb felt a little like insta love but it didn't bother me a whole lot. it felt sorta rushed but I get that since they were only going to see each other for a month. The whole Caleb storyline was a little sketchy. like I get they were trying to portray him as a "bad guy" but they hyped up what he did so much. like there was no excuse for it but he didn't do anything terrible and he seemed like a completely different guy than back then. I liked his character and I even feel like his development from the first time we see him to the end was good. heather was my favorite!!! she was such a good friend and a great sidekick. She was so witty and said the best things. I could picture myself being friends with her. Her and Devon's relationship turned out really cute in the end. Rachel & Elizabeth from back home were good friends, a little bratty at times but I know they were just looking out for Sierra.
Overall, this was fun & cute book!!

2.25 stars ✨ I was going into this book hoping for a Christmassy book that was fast paced and lovable. I only somewhat go that. I’ll say that this book hit the mark on the ‘Christmassy’ element and most books fail in that aspect, however, the rest of this was just…..bleh. The romance was insta love. Saying I love you after a few weeks? Absolutely not. The pacing was everywhere, sometimes super fast, then at a snails pace.

To end I would like to say- PLEASE NEVER DATE ANYONE WHO RAN AFTER AND TRIED TO STAB THEIR SISTER WITH A KNIFE <3

Candy-cane-sweet VERY traditional holiday romance. Sure to satisfy teens grades 7 and up who are looking for sweetness and innocent love. Boy-girl romance with mentions of Christianity and religion.
