Surprisingly readable for a guidebook to nonviolent activism. The draw here is that Popovic already assumes you know the world needs to change. He doesn't try to convince you to do something about it, he's telling you generalizable (now a word) strategies to effectively do something about it. These strategies do make sense and he provides various examples of they were adapted for individual societies. Curious what he might add from the previous year to it...

Clear, concise and useful advice for novice to seasoned activist though it less experienced individuals will find more discoveries naturally. The stories and familiar ideas will provide comfort and inspiration to veterans.

I read this (unfortunately named) book because I feel a civic responsibility to help fix problems in my country, with no idea where to begin. "Even the smallest creature can change the world," and this is the practical and inspiring read I'd recommend to any nervous little hobbits like me. It's written by one of the Serbians who orchestrated the revolution to overthrow Milosevic. How the author manages to be humble while describing all the successful revolutions since then that he and his friends have consulted for, I DO NOT KNOW. But he clearly and carefully presents these steps in a way that makes you believe you are just as capable as him to be a badass who "gets shit done". And okay I 10% read it because of Banksy on the cover
