DNF.
This is an oddly written book. None of the topics are well explained, and neither is the book itself - it jumps right into Iceland without any background. It is a strangely disjointed read - Lewis starts ideas and then never gets back to them. Or he begins on a topic, idea or interview and then gets lost in a strange digression. He also has this habit of trying to associate whole financial issues/collapses with the stereotypes of the people in the county - it's a bit juvenile. I must say, I'm both confused and disappointed.

Very entertaining. A riveting Coming Attraction for the longer, less spirited online material about the financial crisis and its players that you will doubtless be googling.

I liked this, but I have a hard time swallowing any arguments based on a country's general character, and there were a lot of sweeping assumptions here. Just the same, it was a really insightful explanation of a pretty obtuse topic, and Michael Lewis is a pretty funny author.

Good book, but not if you're looking for a deep understanding of the global economic crisis. It's more of a moral lesson book than anything else. Morals worth learning of course.

I’m not a huge non fiction girlie let alone finance girlie, so that fact that I started and finished this book in three days is a glowing review in its own! It was funny & easy to understand, and I loved the cultural contrasting!

I honestly really enjoyed this book. I feel like I’m his writing about money Michael Lewis also writes about life in general and although sometimes this book felt disjointed and random I still really loved it and enjoyed reading it.

This is the natural follow-up to Lewis's The Big Short, which focused on the Wall Street side of the financial crisis. I had ended up reading about a third of the book in excerpts elsewhere, so I found Boomerang less compelling than its predecessor.

This seemed slighter, in both size, scope, and ideas, than The Big Short, but still an enjoyable read. I particularly enjoyed the chapter on California.
