How I love Agatha Christie novels! A fascinating story with believable characters, plot twists and a whodunnit ending that you rarely (if ever) guess.

First Tommy and Tuppence series. Enjoyed it a lot. But I did guess who Mr. Brown was as soon as Pearl Egdeworth entered the picture.

Tommy & Tuppence are a completely absurd couple, willing to go through a lot just for a bit of adventure and cash. A thoroughly wonderful read.

I'm finding that Agatha Christie's writing really did get better the more she wrote. This would be a good example- it's not the best mystery and it doesn't nail the twisty plot the way her later works do. I really enjoyed Tommy and Tuppence as sleuths and would love to read more of their adventures but this story was a little too scattered to be successful, in my opinion. I was able to figure out key mysteries pretty early on into the story, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I also thought the case was both glaringly obvious and impossible to even guess at all at the same time.

First week of January and this is the third Agatha Christie book I’ve finished because I just can’t seem to get enough of her writing. This is my first Tommy and Tuppence and it didn’t disappoint with the great narrative flow and dialogue. I def prefer her murder mysteries to this though and that’s just because I have pretty much zero interest in war content, political espionage, etc etc so it was hard for me to get too invested in the suspense of it all. Also for the first time I ended up guessing who the bad guy was pretty early on. But despite all that I finished this one in a day bc even while being of an uninteresting topic to me I just couldn’t put it down.
