First of all I am going to say that I love this book and I love Cardan.
I love the story and the world that is going on the book. It has a lot interesting characters on the story and Cardan is one of them. Also, there are a lot plot twist that in the end of the chapter it makes you feel like- 'Woa. What- wait! did I miss something? a chapter maybe. Oh no. It's just it'
I know some people say that it isn't worth the hype but still you have to read this book.
I kinda agree. I do not give it 5 stars because some decision of some characters make throughout the stories. That's just it. After all, I love this book seriously. I really enjoy reading it after 50 pages or something.

I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this book mainly because I feel the fae are overused in fantasy right now. I was pleasantly surprised this was the typical fairy fantasy.

I think I loved this as much as I did because the politics at play. It adds a depth to the plot.

I also happen to love the characters. No one is fully who they appear to be at first glance. I live characters that are layered and complex and this book delivers.

When I originally started reading this book I stopped after the first few chapters and I wasn't sure if I was going to continue.. I think part of me is just bored of Fae books and their repetitive content but then I kept reading and I can't say I hated the book, but I also can't say I loved it.. regardless, it still made me want to continue reading to the next book so it accomplished something.

It really isn't as predictable as I would have assumed at the beginning, I'm not a fan of Jude but I also see how she's turned out the way she is from her upbringing, as per the title, there are a lot of cruel and cut throat people in this story and I'm curious as to how it continues
