It's fine. Not sure if I would recommend it to other fans of botanical horror. The main fantastical element (i.e. people turning into trees) is underdeveloped — I really wish it were more detailed. I suppose if you're into action you'll like this more.

Weirdness, body horror, family drama, and possibly the end of the world. Lemire's talent for writing personal, character-driven stories shines through in this opening sequence of a survival saga featuring cultists, fantasy, and a world being reclaimed by nature. With distinctive art and a plot that charges forward from page one, Family Tree begins a bold quest of survival and fighting to protect those you love.

Good story but I get the impression this will be a long run! Really reminds me of Sweet Tooth with a little bit if Farmhand.

Really digging how Phil Hester's Mignola-y artwork captures Jeff Lemire's signature weird family tale.
