Copy given by author in exchange of an honest review. (My first copy ever given by an author! So excited!)
The beginning was so quick... I would've liked to read more about the first steps of their love. It seemed to me that the first part (20-30%) of the book was rushed.
But... then it all started to take shape. I was so sad when I read about Elijah and Bentley. A kid should never go through pain and sickness. But I know that is impossible even in real life. Unfortunately things like this... happen and all we can do is fight. This whole book was about fighting. Professionally and unprofessionally (by unprofessionally, I mean fighting for dear life).
Madisyn and Blaze were such a beautiful couple... I could feel the love flying over the pages of this book. And I hope to read more about them. I dismiss that ending!
I have to say... that ending!!! What a cliffhanger! Damn it... I can't wait to read the second book, because honestly, my heart is broken right now. I love Blaze. A kind and respectful man that made my heart blossom.
To sum this up, the book was beautiful. Well written, with quotes that I felt running through my veins. I will definitely recommend it to my friends!
My favorite quotes:
"At night, the sadness, the emptiness, the depression... they rise and consume every part of me."
"I'm able to shower you with kisses and drown you with love."
"Time can't heal the pain of grief. It's like a deep cut; the wound itself may heal, but the scar that remains is a constant reminder that something you once had is gone."
"My heart fractures a bit at his words."
"I walked into a gym and I saw a girl who brightened my fucking world with more colors than I knew existed."
"Happiness isn't defined by your circumstances, but what you make of the situations."
