DNF’d at 41%. This book is way too long, way too boring and I have ZERO desire to come back to it. I think I was interested in the beginning but that quickly went down the crapper as more and more of the side characters were horrible.

Snorefest! Too long of a book to wait for nothing to happen. Could have been so much better!

this one is hard to rate. took me FOREVER to finish. the pacing is a little off in my opinion. it’s starts strong, then looses you and finished a little rushed. the story and writing are incredible tho

Maybe don't try and read this book while you're also trying to do finals week. But otherwise, great story and lovely prose. Made me want to become an antiques dealer.

i’ve forced myself to wait a few days before writing this review so i know for sure that what i’m feeling about this book isn’t an ephemeral reaction… it isn’t. i’ve been thinking about the goldfinch non stop, this book is a treasure trove of truly detailed characters, full-bodied plot, and most of all, gorgeous writing. Donna Tartt is a gem, and throughout the length (which is long), it’s the writing over the content that drew me back in again and again. i loved this book, with its gentle yet persistent glow and life, just like the painting itself.
