I definitely enjoyed this, and I’m curious to see where the series goes from here!

I thought the premise was interesting, but the storytelling didn't quite do it for me. There weren't enough redeeming qualities in the characters for my taste. I wanted to see a little more development in the main character, the poor helpless woman energy got old for me pretty quick.

This was a “reread,” I didn’t eat it up quite as fast as the first time, but I was still as eager to continue every time. Even as one of the weakest in the series it’s still so captivating to me.

Not the strongest writing; the metaphors are weak and it definitely feels like the author stretched one book into a series needlessly. This whole book was build up for the next one.

my favorite character (and the best character imo) dies.
Snow pirates are bastards and if the other two side characters with personalities end up dying too I shall revolt.
The ribbons are cool and Midas seems an impulsive, ruthless dick.
(pretty sure this is vague enough to not actually spoil anything but hey)

Double cliffhanger ending
Pretty dark
Still gunna read book two though
