Ok So this lands 3.5 stars for me. Not quite 4 but not 3 either.
Hhmmm this is a hard one for me to review. I got into it really quickly & was thoroughly enjoying myself.
A lot of people before me have compared Bones to Spike & there are definitely lots of similarities which I loved cause Spike was & is my favorite vampire in TV.
Cat also was a really likable character. She's strong & determined but also has her baggage & show's her emotions without having to cry every 5 minutes (Thank God cause that really bug's me)
But.........
SpoilerThey fell in love & into bed too quickly for me. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE a good romance. And if a story doesn't have one I lose interest pretty quickly, but as a UF I was expecting it to be a more drawn out affair where the tension built up over a number of books A La Fever series. And I know that Cat's love for Bones is what drives her decisions at the end but I don't know...I'm finding it hard to articulate what I felt. It was like when the romantic tension was taken out of the story my interest started to fade with it.

Having said all that I will definitely be continuing this series, if not for the infamous chapter 32 alone ;)

Eeeh. Could've been great, but too many things that annoyed me with this one.
Cat is so self centered and obtuse that it sometimes hurts to read of her escapades. There's also too much general women-hating going around, and that's not for me.
Bons was a surprisingly green flag ML, and there were some good moments in this, but overall it was not a good read.

Omg! This book was so amazing!!

I was given this book for my birthday from my super awesome friend Ella and I'm so glad she did! I didn't want to stop reading this book from the moment I picked it up. I felt like I knew the characters myself.
The way Jeaniene Frost writes is really incredible. Some parts in this book were so shocking and surprising, even unexpected!

The way Cat holds her ground when she meets Bones, is just amazing. She is such a strong female character and I liked her from the very beginning. I had a feeling I was going to love Bones too. Maybe it was from all the hype I heard about him. I don't know. But I thought he was freakin' kick ass! And I also have a thing for the bad guy type.

Overall, this book kept me wanting more... so much more that I went and got the novella, and book #2 in the series right after I was done with this one! I can't wait to find out what happens next!

This is the beginning of a really enjoyable vampire series. After the book, the author includes material from many chapters that was edited out on the way to publication. It is rare, as a reader, to see that level of detail in how a book gets tightened up.

Pretty predictable story of a half-vampire Catherine Crawfield who has been brought up to hate vampires and now hunts them, is found by Bones a vampire bounty hunter who wants to make her focus. They're attracted to each other but can she get past the years of programming?

It's readable but nothing special.
