What kind of mother custard cake eating bullspit was that ending?! SO MAD! BUT definitely SO GOOD! How long must my heart break before we get the next installment? Excuse me while I bury myself Ina depressive hole until we find out how all my babies fare!

This ended on one hell of a cliffhanger. But I loved every second of this. I love all members of the squad. Their found family is everything. I did think the squad's reaction to Kal's
Spoiler father
was a bit misplaced.
Spoiler He is not his father, nor is he to blame for his actions. I also don't get why Auri, who "loves" Kal, breaks up with him after one fight?
I love the multi-pov from all the squad members.

I had been looking forward to reading this for months and now that I finally have I'm both thrilled and a little disappointed.

Don't get me wrong, I loved this book and am still super in love with this world and these characters (even more in love with the characters, if that was possible), but there were some points that fell a little flat or were a little cliched. Sometimes I was just wishing for MORE.

I really loved getting to know more about Squad 312. We got to know so much more about Zila and she has now become one of my favourite characters after me totally not caring about her in the first book. "I am not feeling nothing." - that hits me every time.
More of Finian is always a fabulous thing, I feel like he's everyone's favourite. AND KAL, my baby, I love him so much and he needs to be protected and loved and all the goodness needs to come his way... But that ending has me worried.
I also found myself liking Scarlett and Tyler more, the sassy twins. Also, their bombshell is HUGE and I am here for it!

I really wanted them to spend more time on the Zero, what a fantastic ship and I wanted it to almost become another character. Tyler is a ship nerd, he needs more time to geek out over his ship.

I adore Kal and Auri together, they are very sweet. I may be biased as I love a soulmate trope. They just really work together and I love that there's no jealously with the squad (I mean everyone finds Kal hot like burning, but they're all super respectful about it). Their argument was one of the cliched moments I didn't like but luckily it got (mostly) resolved pretty quickly.

I LOVE Saedii, what an amazing character. I thought she was super cliched at first and that frustrated me, but her and Tyler have the greatest chemistry and I love their snarky relationship. Though it was hard to take it seriously when Tyler is grieving for how much he loved Cat while also checking out Saedii, that got lots of eye-rolling from me. I am super hoping in book 3 that Saedii is on the Squad's side and embraces her anti-hero potential.

The Eshvaren are the biggest cliche of the book. Very stereotypical creator of the universe, super arrogant, doesn't care at all about the creatures it created. My hope is that Auri - once she defeats the Ra'haam - will do something epic to Esh that removes their high-and-mighty arrogance. They need to be taken down a peg.

I am super excited for the third book and can't wait to see how this story plays out with this great Squad of misfits.

Can I just say that I absolutely love every member of the squad? Kal and Auri own my hears. They're adorable. Scar is just one bada#s woman. Fin is just one big teddy who is absolutely in love. Zila is great but I still want to know more about her. Tyler, my man, you are one amazing leader.

I enjoyed reading the second book in the trio and I can't wait to continue read the rest of the trilogy.

AHHHHHHHH. The beginning of this book might’ve been even better than the first in my opinion, and that cliffhanger- wow. But as time went on I simply hated the way Kal was treated in this book, not to mention some of the graphic scenes rocked my world. I really just want my boy Finian to win at something for once (he got sooooo close at the end). Great beginning, not so great middle, wild end. Oh also Aurora’s training in the other dimension or whatever took way to long- sorry not sorry. At points I was angry with the book, others I was satisfied, others I was destroyed. What a rush.

So Kal and Finn were the ones I liked the most in the last one, in this Zila carried it for me.
