This was just a really fun series overall. I liked the ending. This one tied the story up nicely and left a fun little opening at the end for more. I still had a hard time believing the romance. It just wasn't really necessary to the story, and I just didn't feel any chemistry.

3.5 stars again because AGGGHHHHHH this book probably could've been shorter. All that happened was Nic running away, everyone screaming in the aftermath, and then Brutus trying to kill him again. Rinse and repeat. So...not my favorite of the series and not the strongest series conclusion. But it's still Nielsen and I still adore her and just YEP.

I love Jennifer's books. And this may have even been a five star book if I didn't have the Ascendance Trilogy to compare it to. I know it's not fair, but as one of my favorite trilogies, I can't help it.

This didn't have the twists and turns and surprises I've come to love in her books. Rise Of The Wolf had it, so I was expecting just a little bit more from this one. I still REALLY loved it and thought it was a great conclusion, but it didn't have the epicness of the final scenes of Rise Of The Wolf.

Crispus is my baby, and I CALLED it. No spoilers. But I called it. He's a doll. Love him and Nic. I got a little annoyed with Aurelia who was so USELESS. Every time she was like, "I won't leave you! I can help!" All she did was get in the way by constantly being kidnapped and threatened and forcing Nic to have to make decisions to save her ass. I feel like she wasn't like this in the previous two books, so that was a bit disappointing.

Overall, definitely a great series that I really loved. Didn't make its way into my favorites like the Ascendance Trilogy, but still a great read.

I liked this finale in the Mark of the Thief series. It started off a little slow for me and seemed to drag a bit in places, but I loved the premise and the setting and who couldn't love Nic. The final showdown was really good. I gave it 3 1/2 stars. Love this author though!

Kids can’t get enough of this series! They are loving it. Fast paced adventures. I’m liking all the Greek References.

Very satisfying conclusion to the trilogy. Nic has progressed from slave to magical warrior, but still has more growth to do as he learns about love and courage and all that important stuff. Very exciting action, much magic is wielded, and the romance heightens. (Tween/middle grade level romance, very romantic, very tame and adorable.) These are great books to recommend to a middle schooler who has been reading Percy Jackson books and wants another story with mythology-based magic.

I like Jennifer A. Nielsen's books. The setting in Rome was different and it really sets the Mark of the Thief series apart from others. Usually a children's book concerning the God's is about the Greek's and I really loved seeing them in their Roman versions. Overall it was a good book!
