Finally read this one - it's been on my bookshelf for months. Fantastic story with fabulous characters and surprising twists - can't wait to read the next few books. Why did I wait so long to read this?

2021 - reread for 3rd time on audio. Lovely adaptation.

I really enjoyed this one. I really did not even start to put things together until very, very late into the book so I was shocked to see the reveal, it made so many things so interesting in retrospective. I feel like this book would be a joy to reread. Overall just really fun to read.

I've had my eyes on this series for quite a while, so when I discovered that I had access to the audiobook I thought it was time to give it a try.
It was a quick fun read, and the narator had a really pleasant voice. Eugenides is a character that absolutely falls into one of my favourite categories of characters. A clever thief/conman with a smart mouth.
I also really enjoyed the ending, the revelations were interesting. I had almost figured most of it out, but I hadn't quite figured out the full picture, so I got a bit surprised.
I will try my hand at the rest of the series because I'm a bit curious now.

I liked the first chapter but I think it went downhill for me after that. I don’t really like traveling stories and so far that’s all that’s really happening. They keep talking about the lore of the people and the different telling of it but while that’s interesting, it’s very boring to listen to when I’m not connected to anything else. At this point, they are starting to get to the action but I’m past the point of caring. I liked the voice of the characters but the main character is kind of bland to me. He hasn’t really done much besides be there and talk back.
