5 Stars! LOVED Valentine’s story! Rebecca is innocent and sincere in such an endearing way and I laughed so many times at her misuse of cant phrases. Valentine quickly realizes her charm but unfortunately he has chosen to deal with his struggles in unhealthy ways. He may be a “confirmed rake” but is he redeemable? Love this sweet regency romance. There is so such chemistry between the two, Keyes is such a talented writer! I finished it in 2 days and I could probably immediately read it again and still enjoy it! I would definitely recommend this book and have enjoyed the whole series so far! Can’t wait for Phineas

So frickin cute! 🥰 I loved that Rebecca’s focus was not stuck on people’s actions, but their motivations. For example, she didn’t begrudge her grandfather’s reclusive lifestyle, because she knew the reasons for it. In the same way, when she learns about Valentine’s past actions, she doesn’t define him by those things, but she recognizes that there must’ve been a lot of pain that he was trying to cover up.
Well done 👍 👍

This book was so fun! Rebecca was a super sweet, charming heroine that I fell in love with immediately, and Valentine was the perfect brooding, swoony hero. They were so good together and it was so much FUN to watch them fall in love. Just like the first book in this series, it was flawlessly executed and I can't think of a single thing it could so better. I loved it!

Man, I love this book!! I’m a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine and some fake dating (or in this case I guess it would be courting) and Martha Waters did it beautifully! I always love the way the grump softens to his sunshine and Valentine had such a sweetness toward Rebecca. 😍 I also loved Rebecca’s quirkiness and here ability to speak her mind especially in front of Valentine and the way he admired that in her. The character growth was done so well and I definitely admired his ability to overcome his anger and move on. She strengthened him. And their tension was *chef’s kiss*!! I love this series, especially that Diana is featured throughout each book in the series. Can’t wait to read the next one!

I just adored this book! I love how simultaneously naïve and blunt Rebecca is. I love how Valentine is immediately put off-kilter with her, in the best of ways. I love how their relationship grew as they grew individually too.
Other Things I Loved:
-Rebecca’s misuse of off-color phrases
-The vase
-“Mr. Donovan, what is a rake?”
-Hot chocolate
-“What the devil, Di?” I hissed as she faced me. “Are you mad?” “Very likely,” she said. “All of us Donovans are, I imagine.”
-Rebecca’s lists
-“Does it hurt?” (for Valentine to smile)

I would've given this book 4 stars but Rebecca's naïveté was written to be way too cringy.
