This was a nice and sweet family story about family coming together. I liked the southern vibes, all the talks of the food, and the bits of magical realism. It was fun to listen to and I don't have any criticism but it was not outstanding or memorable enough to me to rate it more than 3*.

Sweet, quaint, and emotional, Midnight at the Blackbird Café is the epitome of a gentle read. I would not have minded a bit more magic, but what is there is interesting and perfectly suited to the Southern small-town setting.
