It’s been a while since I’ve read a fantasy book that gripped my full attention. From beginning till the end.
Wow! And the ending. A cliffhanger.

"White Horse Black Nights" by Evie Marceau is an epic tale that takes you on an exciting journey to a fascinating world of fantasy and forbidden romance. The well-crafted characters and storyline will keep you engaged from the first pages.

"Tell me how you were thinking of me when you were kissing him."
I bare my teeth as a white-hot flare of anger engulfs me. "I wasn't. I hate you - I don't think of you at all."
"You're so fucking pretty when you lie," he murmurs...

Basten "Wolf" Bowborn is a skilled guard with heightened senses entrusted with escorting Sabine Darrow, Lord Rian's new bride, on a 21-day journey on horseback. The purpose of the journey is to honor the ancient fae Gods by riding naked in celebration of their union. Wolf is Lord Rian's most trusted guard and is the best man to keep Sabine safe.

Sabine Darrow has spent 12 years as a ward in a convent, where she suffered harsh treatment. She finds solace in communicating with animals, a godkissed magical gift. Despite her circumstances, she is a strong-willed young woman. I was impressed by her determination and strength!

Their journey is fraught with danger, forcing them to depend on each other and bringing them closer until they can no longer deny their forbidden attraction. But as they grow closer, secrets that put everything they hold dear at risk are revealed.

I highly recommend this mystical and creative tale, filled with angst, mystery, and a hypnotizing slow-burn love story that leaves you yearning for more. Sabine and Wolf's phenomenal story continues in "Silver Wings Golden Games."

Sabine may have spent the last 10 years in a convent but she’s no shrinking Violet. She has secrets - some she doesn’t even know. She has to take a horse ride across the countryside naked to her new fiancé with only her hair as a covering and a huge guard as protection - what could possibly go wrong?

This book had adventure, rumblings of mysterious things happening, secrets on all sides, and a little spice thrown in.

Oh and my favorite quote:

“That girl, there? The one you thought you could take from me? Whatever bounty you thought she was worth, I assure you, she’s worth it one hundred times over. I would tear the living world down to the gods’ underrealm for her—and I’ll happily butcher you.”

Tropes: Enemies to lovers to enemies, Snow White vibes, rumors of Fae, people with fae-like gifts, possible chosen one, forced proximity
