Pros:
* exactly what you want out if a mystery
* paranormal investigative stuff works hand-in-hand with real FBI stuff
* interesting characters

Cons:
* I know it was my own fault for staring in the middles of the series, but I really didn't get a feel for the "krewe of hunters."
* the person doing the audio recording had a limited range of voices and the medical examiner sounded like Kermit the frog.

Overall this was a fun mystery and perfect for a road trip. Plus it it was set in Chicago, involved a mummy, and there was diving in Lake Michigan.

Really good book, I loved the ship wreck and Egyptian connection, I also really liked that Amun Mopet connected this book with the last one.

Another super fun Heather Graham novel. I loved that this tied into The Unholy and featured a slew of Egyptian and treasure elements (my favorite). I was also genuinely confused by the murder mystery and left guessing till the end. Her books are just so comforting to me, and this was a good one!

Here I was, having just read THE UNHOLY, wondering why I'd never read a Heather Graham book before, and Netgalley gives me the opportunity to read another! We see some of the same characters from the Krewe working in the previous novel, and lo, a mummy in Chicago's lake with ties to the previous case! But new readers can jump right in. There are hints of what happened before, but I didn't feel like I would have been lost if I hadn't just read the previous book. Searching for a mummy (and a killer!) requires knowledge of SCUBA and other diving techniques, which Graham clearly has. Some of the information is probably simplified for readers, but it's not done in a way that made me feel dumb. As with THE UNHOLY, there are supernatural elements, but they don't overwhelm the story. There's still good old fashioned detective work to be done, and sometimes you might forget that some of the Krewe can talk to the dead. The romance in this one wasn't as strong as in the first, but I liked the leads' interaction. It's been a long time since I was in Chicago, but this book makes me want to go back--as long as there are no shipwrecked mummies!

Received as a digital ARC via Netgalley and the publisher.

A fun quick read, just what I need in the summer! Liked the action. Some of the plot development was predictable in terms of relationships, but it was still solid and interesting enough to hold my attention. I'd probably give other books by this author a try, though I still lean more towards paranormal and fantasy.

Another great Krewe book. I have to say though, Kat kind of drove me crazy at the beginning of the book. I was so happy that Will was back. I really like his character, and Kat seems like a great match for him. It'll be interesting to see how they "work it out" working for different teams.

I really like that I kept changing my guess all the way up to the end of the book.
