This book felt like it was trying to be 18 different things and failed at all of them. The writing itself was pleasant enough. Even the first half of the novel was fine. But the time traveling was incredibly confusing, and I only sort of understood who all the characters were. Not to mention the chemistry between Eleanor and Robin, which started to build early on, but fizzled as the book grew more muddled.

I was hoping the ending would tie it all up in a happy little bow and make it all make sense. I guess it did to a degree, but the ending also felt lazy and contrived.

It was a good enough concept, but the execution fell incredibly short.

I am got 25% of the way through the book and the plot hasn’t even begun! Also I am so confused by the dates used at the beginning of each part - in the beginning of the novel it is 1840 and Eleanor is 20 years old (Queen Victoria gets married and she says she’s the same age as the queen) but then in the next part, it is 1857 but the story continues like the time jump didn’t happen
(Captain Denim is on his way to India)
. That bit of confusion took me right out of the story and when I looked online for answers, I saw that this book has a very low rating and decided it wasn’t worth my time to continue.

Quite boring. I almost stopped reading multiple times, but I decided to keep reading in hopes of a payoff that never happened.

Didn't enjoy this book. The main question of the book wasn't even approached till near the end and the story felt disconnected.
the love story started well, but was never developed and just expected to have fallen into place. No relationship building. And it felt that the woman was being dragged by the plot versus participating, and the rampage on free will just left me confused. The computer simulation twist made me feel it wasn't worth caring for the characters and the ending was sloppily tied up. Plus the drag/queer storylines were oddly integrated

I just didn't care for this. It was fine but I just didn't connect and I honestly don't know if we time travelled in the first half or not because I was surprised when we were suddenly in a different era like 75% of the way through

Did not enjoy. The time jumps were confusing and difficult to follow. The overall themes of feminism were very surface level and not well developed. The ending was supposed to be a twist but fell flat.
