Cheesy loveliness!

I loved this story! It reads like one of the many Harlequin love stories I used to devour as a teenager, except more detailed and extensive, and therefore, even better. Richard is an advertisement executive who has just been passed over as partner in his company. Being a very ambitious man, he's extremely pissed, more because he was tricked out of the partnership. He decides to get even, getting a job at a competing agency. The problem is, this agency is run by a successful executive who stresses on family values, and Richard has a reputation as "a Dick". Therefore he needs a girlfriend who will make him seem tamer and more suited to the role. Enter his PA, Katherine. He has been a jerk to her, demeaning, insulting, inconsiderate. Yet, when he offers her the "job" as his fiancee with all the monetary gains she will receive, she takes the job because she badly needs the money to pay the home where her aunt Penny lives. Thus starts the trip down domesticated lane for Richard and Katy. Richard gets a lot of surprises from Katy, and the jolts do a good work of awakening hidden emotions from Richard's withered and frozen heart. It was a great story, a little cheesy at parts, but very enjoyable. Some of their dialogues were priceless, where Katy put Richard in his place and left him speechless. It was like seeing a sturdy building topple down. I enjoyed the taming of the "Dick" a lot!

Loved the enemies to lovers trope! But “sweetheart” just kept putting me off the track. The ending got dragged a little. But a good story.

I don’t think there has been another book where I have disliked the MMC so much at the beginning of the book only to end up loving his character at the end. Katy was such an amazing, fierce, loveable, and relatable character.

This slowburn, forced proximity, fake marriage romance was a really compelling read and I loved the way Melanie Moreland described Richard and Katy’s developing chemistry and relationship.

I loved the ending and reading book 1.25, The Baby Contract, in this edition. It was such a cute addition to Richard and Katy’s story!

Really liked this book, stayed up really late to finish it and I have no regrets. The romance was sweet, the story was told mainly from the Hero’s POV which was really refreshing. What I loved most about this book was how Richard, the Hero grew from a selfish bastard to a caring, loving man.. it was nice seeing him get attached to Katharine’s aunt/foster mom like she was his family, too. There was so much more than just romance in this book, there was family, friendship and overall it was just really nice to get lost in this story for a bit.

I would’ve given it 5 stars but I have to agree with most of the reviews I’ve read, there was an unnecessary amount of “fluff” and cheesiness towards the end and it got slightly boring. I usually love it but it was A LOT.
