Between a 3 and a 4, honestly. I felt like the book was far too short to wrap up a series with; it definitely didn't have the lengthy plot feel that Last Sacrifice did.

THAT EPILOGUE

Aaaand we're back to the middle ground. This book seems to be clutching at straws for conflict; the stakes never felt very high, the villain was predictable and one-dimensional, and the final 'battle' was so fucking underwhelming. (Side note: I will never forgive this series for its juvenile and uninspired depiction of magic and demons, especially after Mead gave us the incredible Moroi-Dhampir-Strigoi take on vampires.)

The characters were poor excuses for their former selves, as well. What happened to Sydney's dreams of travelling and studying?
Spoiler Married with a child while in her teens and attending a local university
is not the happy ending Mead thinks it is. Adrian was just as self-centered as he was at the beginning of this series, Jill's spirit connection was underutilised, Eddie and Neil were completely sidelined again, and Rose and Dimitri were only included to appease VA fans. Then there are all of the side characters that don't even rate a mention once they're no longer useful to the story (see: Sonya, Marcus, Jackie, Trey, Angeline, Clarence, and so many more).

Lastly, for such an expansive universe with so many political and racial conflicts, the final installment to this hexalogy makes very little effort to address or change any issues outside of Sydney and Adrian being safe from the Alchemists. This was hardly a satisfying conclusion the book, let alone the whole series.

To its credit, the storyline is coherent and the pacing feels natural, so it's still an improvement over the first few Bloodlines books. And although the final third of the book was a bit 'meh,' it did start out strong as it came off the tail end of Silver Shadows! So yeah, 3-stars; 'I liked it' enough while I was reading it, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to my friends.

Honestly ? This book was a well written hot mess. An end to a series of endless plot twists, character growth, and slow burn romances! The rest of the series is 5/5 stars, but this is 4/5 just due to two many story lines that weren’t completely relevant.

I'm was really excited to read this book. I wanted to see how the marriage was going and what happened to Jill.

In this book, we see how Sydney and Adrian are handling being married but at the same time mostly being stuck inside in their living space because only very few people accept their relationship. They are struggling, but suddenly, Ms. Terwilliger shows up with a magicly locked box. The content in the box triggers the many events that happen in this book.

I was sad that there were some characters we didn't get to see as much in this book. However , I really enjoyed seeing the witches more.

I sadly think the ending was a bit rushed, and I really wish there were more books about some of the other characters. Like Eddie or Mircus Finch or even Zoe.

I loved the book, and it is very sad the series ended. I enjoyed reading the epilogue but wish there were more books in the Vampire Academy universe.

It was... OK I guess. Some parts were a bit far fetched, even by Mead's usual standards. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, for the most part, devoured it in a couple of days; yet, bits were kind of boring and bits just kind of resolved themselves way too fast... I don't want to give out too many spoilers, but I do wish the epilogue was set further into the future and we could see (more) babies, even some Russian second cousins (if you know what I mean). Maybe that would have been too reminiscent of Harry Potter???
