I saw this book as a love story of two characters who want to have a much deeper relationship but they come from two different worlds. They love each other and that’s what matters. Would have loved to have seen it fleshed out more and longer but we can’t all get the world we want can we?

This book had so much potential and I really loved most of it, but the sister/guardian story line affected my overall enjoyment. Triss and Jack were super captivating and I loved their push and pull dynamic, but I hated her sister Kat for the entire book, even after she started to be nice to Triss. She was selfish, reckless, mean, and so ungrateful and I just couldn't get past it. If that plot point had been written differently, this easily could have been a 4, or even a 5 ⭐ read.

Surprised me.
I'm always on the lookout for a new author. Especially, if it's about MC or Mafia. This book was suggested and I was all in. One of the classes I took when I was getting my English Literature degree taught me something about writing that always stuck with me from then on. This instructor told me that according to Steven King, the first sentence is the most important part of the book. It is the hook that keeps the reader going. That happened with this book. From that moment on, I was invested in how this would turn out.
Triss and Jack had crazy hot chemistry. Triss was balls to the walls. She didn't back down. I loved that about her. And Jack was the perfect balance of protective and over-the-top, without appearing misogynistic.
I will be continuing in this world. This author has a great cadence and tone in her writing, giving this story a more authentic feel.

This was such a action packed gripping read. I loved the personality of the triss and Kat.
If you like Motorcycle clubs, action, guns, spice, and a bit of drama this is your read hands down.
Loved most of the characters and Jack and Jess will have a big piece of my heart especially Jess he held a special place in my heart.
