Fun, fast read. A good page-turner with a likable main character, an interesting premise and a quick pace. Good beach book.

As with the other books by this author, it is a very male/testosterone-ish book. But I enjoyed reading it, as I have everything else I've ready by him.

WOW!!!!! This book is RIGHT up my alley.
This book literally is the definition of all the books I rate a 10/10
It follows an ex-navy doctor, dr. Peter crane, who is called to an oil rig in the middle of the Atlantic to treat certain strange illnesses that begin afflicting crewmembers. What he doesn't realize is that he's actually being called to Deep Storm, a facility that is located two miles below the surface of the ocean, which the oil rig is a front for.
This book was just unbelievable. The research and time the author must have put into this book is crazy. I always love well written sci fi because it almost seems actually plausible, and this masterpiece was no exception.
In addition to being superbly well written the plot was top notch.

The last, like, 3 minutes of the epilogue bumped it from 1 star to 2 but like ugh, still. So long and so many things unanswered. Will NOT be going on to book 2.

Here's the thing; This book wasn't bad. Not at all. But the two stars are because I know Lincoln Childs can do so much better...
The main character seemed a little flat and I didn't find anyone else I connected with. I also didn't understand half the science-y stuff and it made me feel a little dumb, so that didn't help any.
I did love the ending though, wasn't expecting that!

It was good enough to keep me interested, some intrigue and suspense that kept me engaged for the most part. A different take on the sci-fi aspect, thrilling to a degree, so yeah enjoyable.
