I used to read Fairy Oak as a child, and I loved it. Now I’m 20 and I find myself dazzled by this little pearl of italian fantasy literature. You can feel the magic, the tranquility of the Fairy Oak village through every page of this saga. This book in particular was funny and yet deep, and it perfectly embodies the autumnal spirit. Even the writing style feels like autumn: simple, elegant, and humorous. There’s just something extremely creative and astonishing in Elisabetta Gnone’s writing, that makes me feel like Fairy Oak is one of those books that, although it seems to be written for children, it has to be re-read through the eyes of an adult too, because there are so many parts that a child-like head may not fully understand. And the only other book I’ve felt like this about is The Little Prince.
I am so glad children will grow up reading this.
