For the most part, this book was stupidly wild. Kind of to the point of not being entertaining because the plot was just too over the top.

The whole Dimitri vs Adrian thing is just irritating too. I feel sorry for Adrian. Rose should just grow up and leave him alone.

The thing that made this book slightly better than the last one (Blood Promise)? The ending. Annoyingly, it makes me want to go on to read the last book (Last Sacrifice). Well played, Mead, but I just don't know if I can do it. Going through another 600 pages of so-so for whatever is left of this guilty pleasure might not be worth it.

Just when you think things are winding down...

From one adventure to another, tensions are high and everything is happening at once.

I know that Lissa is the one who is royal, and will help shape the Moroi and Dhampir society in the future, but more often than not, it just feels like she follows Rose around. No matter how ridiculous or dangerous it may be. Sometimes it feels like Rose overpowers everyone around her.

All in all, full or miracles and reunions and broken hearts.

Book #5 in the Vampire Academy series and the best so far! Whereas book #4 was slow in the first half, this book was non-stop action! I have really grown to love all the characters. This is the first book/series that has a love triangle that I completely understand. There is usually an obvious "better choice" in most triangles and when the love sways the wrong way you wonder "what are you thinking?!" Dimitri and Adrian are so opposite of each other but both so incredible in their own way I can understand loving them both! Can't wait to read the next book but sad it is the last.

Very good read, as expected. I’m going to try not to mention too many spoilers, because it’s really easy to tell the whole book!

Oh boy…Rose is really in deep trouble at the conclusion of this book, more than usual! Throughout the book I continued to feel bad for her. It’s like this girl can’t catch a break…ever! The Dimitri/Adrian/Rose thing is just sad. It’s lose-lose…for everyone. I will say that Lissa accomplished what Rose set out to do at the end of the last book, but with one major unexpected consequence. I was hopeful things would clear up with that love triangle, but that would have been too easy. Apparently things have gotten worse. I must admit, Dimitri is really starting to piss me off! LOL, he needs to pull himself together, seriously. I’m liking Adrian more and more. He is really good for Rose.

Glad to see that Lissa and Christian have gotten over their BS finally! To top it off Abe is back. Somehow I knew that we had not seen the last of him. Of course he will always have Rose’s back. He’s bad ass, for real. A very interesting revelation at the end of the book, but it didn’t totally surprise me because there was tons of foreshadowing going on.
