Enjoyed the criminology and the complications of an FBI agent & secret vigilante-will-he-find-out relationship.
Didn't enjoy the vengeful, angry, tantrum sex at the end.

I was really looking forward to this book after reading the ending of the third one and I'm so glad that this book didn't disappoint. I read this book on e-reader and then I listened to the last 35-40% on audio. This book is more gruesome (like I stated in my previous reviews, Lana's killing sprees are my favorite part of the books) and we get more backstory on what happened and more mind games. Logan and Lana's relationship starts to serve! And oh my gosh it was just so entertaining!
This is the book where Logan finds out and I think it was well executed. It was dramatic enough, but not too dramatic to where it was unserious. I really liked how the author did the reveal. I fear that Lana will go off the rails in the last book because Logan isn't her anchor anymore. The way he had angry sex with her when he found out.😢💔
Can't wait for the last book!

Note: This may be an unpopular opinion but Lana and Jake's relationship (friendship) is 10x better than Lana and Logan's. Love Jake! And I love their dynamic. He loves her so much!

Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️/5

These books are getting harder to get through! MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNINGS FOR SEXUAL VIOLENCE in this book. And that ending? Ripped my heart out. Dont want it to end but also cant wait to read the final book in this series.

This is the best book in the series and at times it was tough to read Lana and Marcus backstory. Also the ending.

This was so much darker and more violent than the other books so far. This series is wild! I love Hadley, and I really liked the character development (even if it wasn’t good) with Lana. Absolutely fascinating storyline.

Oh My god! Logan knows! I screamed! Damn, the kill descriptions gave me chills, it was super graphic😱 This was dark as hell so, at some point, I was nauseated. I know, Logan must be mad as fuck but he did have to do that to Lana? I thought Lana would have a panic attack because of her traumatic past. Killing in the haunted house was smart, but super disturbing and demented. I just wish I won't have nightmares after reading this. But this was interesting and I couldn't stop reading. Thank you, Stabby🚩

The first three books introduced us to Lana and Logan, what makes them who they are, all the things that had to happen to get them exactly where they needed to be for this part of the story.

If you felt the thrill from the first 3 books prepare yourself because for this one all you will feel is rage.

This is where it all unfolds and I am going to be honest, this was a very difficult story to go through. This is where Lana’s story gets told with all the f*ckin grimy details. If on the first 3 books all we got were glimpses, some snippets of the conversations that happened on that fateful night, here we get the whole thing. The whole f*cked up and ugly thing that Lana, Marcus and their father had to go through in the hands of not 1 but 12 FUCKING BASTARDS. I HATED EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF WHEN I HAD TO LISTEN TO THE DETAILS OF LANA’S STORY. HATED IT!

I honestly feel that Lana deserves all their tears and blood and Kyle deserves everything and more!

On a very little note that ending broke me. 😭

As the FBI are closing in, to uncover the dark secrets of the small town, they are also closing in on the serial killer case they have been working on- and closing in on Lana. But will she survive if her secrets come to light?
I love how strong that Lana is- after everything she has been though, not only is she still facing each day- but she is getting the revenge she deserves- and ridding the world of all the monsters from her past. I cannot wait to read the conclusion of Lana's story. 5⭐ out of 5⭐.
3🌶️ out of 5🌶️ - a couple scenes in some detail.
