This is my first foray into anything Emily the Strange and I’m not convinced I started at the right place. I’ve seen her image floating around the internet but that’s as far as my knowledge goes. On paper she seems like the kind of character I’d be into but I just found myself bored with this. There was no meat or flesh to it and I found myself wanting so much more. The illustrations were dope but that’s about as far as much enjoyment went with this one sadly, I didn’t really take anything away from it at all.

A tiny little cartoon book about a "dark" young girl with a very odd way about her.

The comments on each page weave a weird picture of a disturbing Emily, a girl with black hair and depressing moods. The brevity leaves the reader wondering, "why?"

I am torn. To say I liked it would be an understatement. But I had the feeling I was missing something...

I love Emily the Strange. I feel like the dark plots are reminiscent of the Addams Family, and the artwork is really inspirational for my own art.
