So hard to rate this book because so much happens in it! The pacing did feel a bit off sometimes but the layers of story here were incredible. Shallan became slightly less annoying by the end, and all the other characters feel like they have real depth. I’m so excited for the rest of this journey!

Again, a reread to prep myself for Book #3. I either didn't finish this the first time around or completely forgot what happened, because about 75% of the way through I felt like I was reading new material. I thought this book was much more action packed than 1 (as per usual with a trilogy, I suppose). I fear that Book #3 will do what Book #2 did for me for the first book, and make a lot of things that seemed true and high stakes not true after all, but we'll see. Excited to finish ploughing through these so I can get back on pace, these suckers are looooooooong!
