although expected from the quiet beatle, be warned ! this is not a biography but essentially a glorified magazine interview followed by all of harrison's songs, which I've never understood; why would I read the lyrics when I could just listen to the music ? it's like putting a bagel into a CD player

I get that this wasn't a proper "autobiography", but it was just weird and disjointed, and he sounded quite like a curmudgeonly old man at the ripe old age of 36.

My favorite Beatle, it's a nice account from the background of the band.

I was a bit apprehensive about reading this because of the reviews I saw on Goodreads, but in my insatiable quest to soak up as much information about the Beatles (and my favorite Beatle) as possible, it was obvious I had to read this.
Anyone who knows anything about George "the quiet Beatle that never shut up" is that he wasn't one to talk about himself too much so of course this was bound to be hilarious, straight to the point, and more about the music than him.
Whatever this book is, I loved it. It's always great to discover new songs when I think I've covered all the "good" one's so this was awesome.
Now if I could just follow through with my Here Comes the Sun tattoo then I think my obsession would be complete...

Although Harrison was in the most famous rock band of all time, he was known for being reclusive. So he's not a likely candidate for a tell-all-autobiography. This is more of an effort from a professional writer who combined an interview with personal recollections in section two. Prior to this is a touching tribute from his wife. The third section is photos with credits at the end for some reason. The bulk of the book is song lyrics in Harrison's own hand and type written. This is accompanied by brief remarks about the inspiration, lyric and musical, for each song.

As much as I love George, sometimes I think he can be a bit too spiritual (not sure if thats the word im looking for but ill go with it) for my tastes.

Im very much a realist, and I base most of my beliefs on empirical evidence - George is all about spirituality and I just cant really relate to that.

But I like the story for ‘Behind that closed door’ :’)
