I read this as part of the Fresh Romance graphic novel anthology Vol. 1.
When I saw the title page and noticed it was a Beauty and the Beast retelling, I was disappointed. Even as a book lover I’ve never enjoyed the story of The Beauty and the Beast. I think it’s been well over-done in retellings and never really brings anything new to the table.
This however, was different.
The story was told almost fairytale-like. The art was beautiful and reminded me of vintage artwork of the original story and I loved how the story differed from the original. All in all- this was a delight.
If you are a Beauty and the Beast fiend, definitely pick this up. And if you’re a bit hesitant? I still think it’s worth giving a go.

When Beauty meets Beast, they fight for their love risking everything to be together.

Very similar to the fairytale Beauty and the Beast, but Belle is called Beauty and her Dad is a king and she also has 2 selfish sisters. All "love" the Beast but not in a good way. The king uses the Beast for showing off and using him for his dirty work. One sister uses the Beast as part slave, part pet. The other sister uses the Beast as a weapon. But Beauty wants to know the Beast and with their friendship, love blooms. But Beauty's family is not happy about it and they become the Hunted.

This is a quick and simple novel. Very short and sweet. The graphics were really good and I absolutely loved the lyrical writing in this novel. It didn't have the wow factor for me and also it was just too short. But it was a fun quick read regardless.
