This is such a charming book! I love Elizabeth Barrett Browning's work and was very taken with the idea of a biography of Flush, her spaniel, and Woolf's interpretation of Flush's character and his time with the poet feels perfect: all the confusion and adoration that the spaniel feels are beautifully described, and his character, affectionate, jealous, empathetic is so believable. A great insight into both a dog's mind and the poet's life.
