Extremely dark humour, still light and funny a lot of the times and was somehow still rooting for the love story. Love how the plot unfolded! I guessed a couple of the twists shortly before they were revealed and yet still found the reveals delightfully written with some surprising elements. I’m not one for a dark or gory book but I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Ah, I'm struggling so much with this book. If it didn't include unnecessary disgustingly detailed scenes of killing animals, it would've easily been a higher rating. I enjoyed the story. I laughed, I nearly cried. I was shocked by plottwists. I loved reading about an unhinged character getting revenge on awful people. But the animal scenes... look, maybe I'm weird for being fine with detailed murder of fictional people, but even a mention of dead animals makes me want to puke. These extremely detailed scenes of animals being killed? It completely ruined this book for me that I almost DNFed me. It felt unnecessary and disgusting. It made me sick.

So yeah, in the end, I don't think I'd even recommend this book because of that. If it weren't for those scenes, this would've been an all time favorites. But alas.

Not sure if I'll read the sequel. The animal deaths in this book came out of nowhere because I didn't research trigger warnings - I didn't have to because aside from animal abuse and death, I don't need those. But I'll do some research on the sequel and if it has scenes like that as well. If not, I might still read it.

This is an enjoyable bit of fluff. Even though it’s quite dark, the unrealistic storyline keeps it from feeling possible, and therefore it isn’t heavy.

Absolutely nothing about this worked for me. The humour wasn't funny, the characters had no personality, the plot twist was ridiculous. A lot of it felt like it was written to be quoted on twitter.

First I wouldn’t highly recommend checking the warning for this book before you dive in.
Although I personally felt this book was aiming at inspiration and funny with its dark humour and plot line. I think the execution missed. It is a tense book with a few plot holes and the amount of humour isn’t enough to balance the uncomfortable reflection of reality this book brings.
I thought due to the name of the book there would be more planning before the murder. I’m all for the premise of a book that puts power back in the hands of women. However I feel the graphic description of what happened to the women in this book was not equal to the death they were dealt. Also any power that it felt women may have was completely stripped away at the end with how James treated Kitty when she wasn’t prepared with any of her tools she was still unable to get away. Also ending with the 2 women killed unfortunately left me with the horrible reminder that this is the world we live in and no ones out there to help us.
