Minthe is an Asteriae, star nymph, who can lead others to their paths. But she can't do much of that at the moment, locked in the bowels of a prison. When a mysterious male offers her a way out, she is rightly doubtful but he is good to his word and help her escape.

Rhoetus is the rightful king of Krete, his family having been murdered by Minos. He is helping to lead the rebellion against Minos and his Minotaurs with his new family by his side. They have found mates of their own and he feels happy for them but believes he will have no such happy ending. He doesn't even know if he will be able to keep his throne once he recaptures it...after all his "real" father is Zeus! There is more to him than a strong soldier, he is also an Eagle shifter.

But when his thirst for revenge almost leads him to commit murder, Minthe manages to stay his hand and he runs, but fate has more in store for these two. War is looming and they may have to put aside their feeling's to complete their missions.

A wonderful ending to this spin off series from the Halcyon Series. Rhoetus is brilliantly conflicted and loaded with self doubt. she Minthe is happy to use her body to get what she wants but can she save her mate from a dark destiny?

Fab ending, great to catch up with all the Lords and their lady loves. All the loose ends are tied up and of course the passion is off the charts!
