I re-read this book yearly. It's so gripping and so heavy and so hopeful in a weird way. A beautiful but sad read.

 this book was good but it dragged on for way too long. i really liked the chrissie/julia POVs and how it felt like an 8 year old vs an adult. i was expecting it to be a little more climactic and i’m just left feeling unsatisfied with the ending
