This book sounded like a light hearted story about suburban life. It is not. It also has too many characters, with several having the same first initial, which just adds to my confusion of keeping up with who I was reading about. It was a quick read, but darker and covering a lot heavy topics then I expected.

The plot was a lot different than I expected based on the book jacket, but I enjoyed the direction it went in! The only thing that I didn’t always enjoy was the writing. Sometimes it seemed so stiff and robotic like “yes, father, you were right” and the use of “ship” in that one chapter made me want to gag the author did not need to do that. I hate when authors try to use modern slang that younger people use and then use it wrong. Just don’t use it!!! Besides the sometimes weird and stilted writing, the book was a fun read! It did have a very satisfying ending for all the characters, though I did wish there was more Jackie. We got solo chapter in the first half for him, but then it’s like Rosen almost forgot about her own character or something. I think my favorite character was definitely Olivia.
