This was such a wonderful book. Celeste Ng has a beautiful way of writing morally grey and complex characters in situations. It is rare that writers create stories with such nuance.
Graphic: Abortion
Moderate: Abandonment

A quick and readable book about two extremes of parenting (but with a MYSTERY also); shelve under "how not to raise your children" and maybe cross-list with "higher-brow than a beach read but lower-brow than like Doris Lessing"

It’s good but the writing style takes a bit to get into. Read the book before you watch the show, but you could also just watch the show and skip the book.

This is one of those novels that sticks with you.
I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about my pursuit of morality, about money and privilege, and about their intersection. This novel will forever contribute to the framing of these issues in my mind, and I'm grateful for the compassion and courage that Little Fires Everywhere has imbued my exploration of these subjects with.
Really lovely reminder that there are little fires in all of us.

This book kept me rivited, I finished in two days but it ended a bit too tidy (and not in a happily ever after way). It was a departure from what I normally read.
