can victoria possibly write a book that i don’t like? the answer is no, she cannot.

i loved this book. as always, the characters are rich and three dimensional. i liked kell, rhy, and astrid and athos the best. lila was... not my favorite but still a cool character.

worldbuilding and the magic system were A+ and i certainly hope black london makes an appearance in the next books because i am intrigued

This was my first book by V.E. Schwab and I loved it so much that I want another!

This book was too much fun. It was so much fun that when I finished I said: "I want a movie".

I honestly don't want to give the plot away because I think the summary does a nice job of explaining the story without going into too much detail. However, the one thing that shocked me is how young Kell is - Kell is 21. I thought he was older, almost in his early thirties. Yet, as more of the story came about it had me thinking...

SpoilerOK. Therin made a comment about Lila's eye, and Kell has an eye that is funny too. Apparently Lila has magic in her but she hasn't tapped into it yet. ... I'm gonna go all Return of the Jedi here and say, at this moment, I'm thinking they're brother and sister. Yeah. So, does that mean Rhy is gonna be Han Solo? Because if he is I have no objections in that.

By the time I finished this book, I counted so many things that I knew were going to be brought up in a sequel. I dreamed of so many adventures I wanted to be had, this time including Rhy. I think the three of them are an amazing set of characters, I think the world that Ms. Schwab has created will allow them to shine.

Just don't make me wait too long for a sequel. :)

I feel bad that I started this amazing book after being in a reading slump, hence the two weeks it took me to read it. I think I would of been able to appreciate this book more while I was reading it had I not been in a reading slump. But at the end with 8 pages left I really felt how good the book was and truly didn’t want it to be over. By the end I finally acknowledged how much I loved this book.

MINOR SPOILERS!!
Now after saying that I’ll mention the fact that soo many charters died in this. And those who didn’t came close to death at least once. They’re really never getting a break. This of course means two of my favorite characters did end up dying, I was very sad because they had so much potential to be funny side characters. Even though they only made about two appearances, I still loved them. Overall I really liked the cast of characters we got those including Kell, Lila, Rhy, and Gen and Parrish of course.

I loved the setting of this book, the worlds with different magic and history. The magic system was great and the plot was fast-paced. The humor as well the character dialogue was so fun to read.
