(Tamlin)Spoiler
If there had been bigger red flags with Tamlin in the first book or moments where the mask slipped a bit him turning into an abusive prick would have made more sense. Book 1 Tamlin and Book 2 + 3 Tamlin are very different characters and makes the first book feel disconnected. I like book 1 on it’s own and I like books 2 and 3 together but when you put the whole series together the jump between 1 and 2 doesn’t really make sense.Spoiler
Tamiln was showing more signs of being abusive in the first book and accept that you aren’t really going to see his character develop in that directionGraphic: Emotional abuse, Toxic relationship, Gaslighting, and Confinement

I absolutely love how Rhysand was reintroduced & how he helped her to find herself again. I think that Maas did an amazing job of giving us reasons to have the readers cheer on Rhys instead of Tamlin, especially as the book progressed. I think that the open healing and vulnerability between them helped form their relationship, and how he made her want to paint again. He is overall so healing to Feyre, and I love how much that is displayed. I also really appreciate how we get to see his side of the story and why he acted the way he did in the previous novel. I am also very happy that the little rift after the Suriel did not last long at all, and that we had a soon and meaningful reveal of feelings in that little cabin instead of having it be drawn out and dramatic. I was absolutely broken at the end of the novel, after Feyre broke the bond & sacrificed herself back to Tamlin. Maas did an excellent job of hiding the important details and giving readers such a deep sense of loss before she later reveals their trickery. I am very interested to see how the dynamics of the next novel will work, and if we’ll get dual perspectives like we did at the end of this book. I am also intrigued to see what ends up happening in the Spring Court between Lucien and Feyre, especially since he seems to be knowledgeable of her tricks. I am so excited to see where this takes everyone, and I am counting down the pages until we get a much needed reunion between our favorite couple.Graphic: Grief, Injury/Injury detail, Eating disorder, Kidnapping, Torture, Blood, Violence, Gore, War, Confinement, Emotional abuse, and Murder

a gaslighting, controlling bastard!!! And to think that Feyre would willingly stay with him when he continues to trap her, control her, and smother her until she’s caving in on herself!? Ugh. Such a bastard. <spoiler/> now, Rhysand on the other hand: is such a sweet, damaged baby. When Tamlin failed to recognize that Feyre had severe PTSD from the experience, Rhys did, and he’s the one that took steps to help her heal from that. Tamlin just ignored it, saying that he was dealing with his own shit. Well guess what, Rhys has 50x more trauma from the experience than Tamlin, so he actually understands what Feyre is going to though.Spoiler
And then he wonders why Feyre ends up with Rhys. Smh. <spoiler\>Graphic: Abandonment, Blood, Body horror, Classism, Fire/Fire injury, Gore, Murder, Sexual content, Injury/Injury detail, Toxic relationship, Toxic friendship, Violence, Vomit, War, Panic attacks/disorders, Death, Cursing, Emotional abuse, Gaslighting, Grief, Kidnapping, Medical content, Medical trauma, and Torture
