A strong second installment of the series, the story was engaging and compelling and mostly believable. However, the author has a habit of leaving things out, unclear storytelling in some key moments, and the ending was racially a deux ex machina in a way which just felt cheap and convenient.  But overall a good read and I will read the next.

This one blew the first book out of the water! I devoured this book! I laughed and cried and clutched my pearls. Haha. I’m so excited to see what’s next for the characters!! 

There is a heavy theme of abandonment and confinement in this one.

I might make this a 5 star once I finish the entire series. I'm only two books in, and this one was great! This book had great pacing with lots of mystery, action and character development. This book really gave more world building and character interactions. It was the right amount of sexual buildup mixed with  action to make this a very enjoyable read.
