These two little bbs are just the most precious beings! I love that this story delved into more serious topics such as mental health and eating disorders. The way Nick CARES for Charlie is just the absolute sweetest thing but also the way Charlie stood up for himself šŸ„¹šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

I also liked that we got to see more of the friend group and some other side characters. The queer love in here is amazing to see šŸŒˆā¤ļø

Very cute, quick read. Covers some serious topics but in a lighthearted way, which I do appreciate. Hopefully kids feel less alone when they read this, I know I would have as a teen.

These characters are all growing so much! Nick and Chalie's relationship further develops as they make decisions on if to let others know about it or not. Other relationships form too. There are some serious topics covered in this volume along side the gushy, cute romance. It's handled quite well. This particular volume was very moving.

Spoilers Ahead
Heartstopper, they could never make me hate you. I absolutely adore you so much.
In this book, Nick and Charlie are going around France on a school trip with their school. They are battling with the decision to come out to people, who to tell, worrying about the backlash of it. The iconic teacher couple from the Netflix series are finally in the comic, and they made it so so so much better, and it follows Charlieā€™s struggles with mental health and eating disorders, and Nick tries to help him through it.
I just read a review (from a parent) saying that this book is ā€œ100% groomingā€, because itā€™s about kids having sex? First of all, that doesnā€™t actually happen (to my knowledge) in this book, and second of all, itā€™s so unrealistic thinking that all children donā€™t have sex at that age. Prohibiting reading about it is only going to increase the likelihood that they have sex in a safe way, not stop them from doing it. As it is, in other books, Oseman touches really taboo subjects that kids need to be exposed to, like sex, and protection, and mental illnesses. The problem with this review is Iā€™m 90% sure itā€™s nothing to do with the ā€˜sexual contentā€™, and everything to do with the fact that itā€™s two boys doing it. SMH!
Anyway, rant over, I thought this book was too cute, just like the others. Itā€™s not my favourite, Iā€™m not really sure what itā€™s not doing for me, however I never really liked the Paris scene in the Netflix, series, either. However, still a lovely book, and I canā€™t wait to complete the series!
