A very good read. A little winding at parts, but the world-building around the cult was very realistic and created a serious sense of foreboding.

I took one star off because it could’ve been shorter. And also I haven’t read any of the other Strike novels so I had no background in terms of Robin and Strike. Overall I just didn’t feel their chemistry AT ALL, but I’m sure I would have a different opinion if I’d read the other books.

Overall, I would recommend.

Back to focusing on the the case! Still some stuff about a romance between Comoran and Robin, but not as awkward as in the previous novel.

Interesting case, lots of action, lots of great characters.

I give this book 4 stars coz some of the terminology used in today’s society really triggered me. (I usually read dark romance so I’m unfazed) however regardless it was a good book. And I enjoyed the story line

The best book of the excellent Strike series so far! A total pageturner. The central mystery is gripping and chilling, and the cult setting is so well-depicted that it genuinely gave me goosebumps at times. Interesting developments in the sub-plots of all the familiar characters in the series too. Had me looking up the release date for the next book in the series as soon as I finished this one!

I think reading Cultish right before this really added to my enjoyment. Fascinating setting, I was so tense reading this, and the ending/case wrap-up was very satisfying. The Strellacot ending...argh! Love the character development in this series so much, they feel so built out and real to me. And I agree with a review saying this series is love letter to London. Can't decide if this or Troubled Blood is my favorite in the series.
